Operation: Motorswap! 56kno!
Well my friends supercharged motor has 211,000 miles on it now and isn't very healthy. We got walked by a bone stock S2000 the other night, and when we first put on the 8psi pulley had NO problems putting severe hurting to 2ks. I've had a motor in my garage for a bit now hes just been strapped for cash but finally gathered up enough to get the head rebuilt and test leakage of the shortblock.
Turns out all 4 are under 20% leakage, so its in pretty good shape. We ripped into tearing his current motor out today and got a lot done. Now all thats left is waiting on gaskets and reassembly.
His factory transmission is screwed, sometimes won't go into gears when sitting at a light, and the power rack leaks like a civ.. So we depowered a rack to swap in now that the motor is out.
Can't forget the farewell video:
That was an ice cold start, hadn't been started all day. Unfortunately we missed the video of the giant fireball that came out the two previous times before my dumbass got the camera out.. No cat. Notice the leaf falling from the tree?
Yeah, my neighbors hate me.

Well we've been talking about that one.. I think personally its more cost effective to build up a nice turbo system, he seems to think that supercharged is less "hassle." Granted, I'm not turbo yet, hes the one out ******* with that car EVERY DAY! Belt slipped off, stretched out, tensioner making noise, belt slipping, etc.. Plus theres only so much to gain from a tiny *** little M45.
He decided however he wants to get the MP62 setup and run around 12psi into the motor but that'll cost him around $3000.00. While I don't agree with his choice of boost, its boost none the less... What I'm really pushing is MSnS-PNP!!! (And fixing the drivers door.. ) We'll see.
None the less, I had a lot of fun working on it today. We started pulling the motor at 6, with dinner break, some cursing, bleeding, and various trips around to recollect my tools I'd loaned out, we finished by 9pm after a total cleanup.

Okay no pictures or video uploaded yet... But I think we found our problem!!
Dunno if any of you recall a thread I started a few months back about a 94 oil pressure gauge freaking out... Lets just say, theres some weight reduction on the pistons now. Plus, the rings are either, mostly missing or the lands are fried.. You can wiggle the pistons around 1mm side to side while IN THE CYLINDER! The walls don't look too molested, but they're way way way too shiny... All of the valves look badly burnt, but oddly enough theres like NO carbon in the chambers anywhere!
I'm surprised this freakin motor still ran!

I had the same problem recently.
Was running ~10 psi on my m45. Eventually I started noticing when I'd get up in the RPM's with boost, my oil pressure gauge (it's a fully working one, not a dummy gauge) would freak out, and wiggle back and forth.
Eventually I started noticing I had to add a bit more oil every now and then.
Then after an autocross and an endurocross the next day, I added in 1.5 quarts of oil in between those two events. Oooops.
A little while after that, I got the Crown Vic/Lincoln/Mercury a-typical Ford little "blue cloud of sadness" following me around from my tailpipe.
Good times.
Good luck with your build guys

My oil pressure gauge wiggles all the time... except when im in boost lol. I do think my sender is going out. I need to take the time to pull the intake manifold, clean it, remove the intake manifold brace, and replace the oil pressure sender. I have a sender sitting on the shelf.

Not only that, I couldn't seem to get anyone to also entertain the idea of an mp62 for a 99 motor in a 1.6. "Just sell it and get an NB!!!!"

I fought tooth and nail to get a supercharger with no electronics, and he wouldn't do it. I tried to keep the money in the circle of friends, but we couldn't seem to work out a deal for an mp62 for less than $4500 with an intercooler, and I'd still have 2 front-mount-pcpros to throw in the trash and buy ms.

Hes got his heart set on the MP62 from MOSS, and maybe he can sell that power card crap on ebay or something.. Thats where he bought his PC1 hes running now.
5psi stock pulley, BEGi FPR, stock manifold, stock cat, 2.25 borla catback, 185k miles, made 151rwhp. 8psi pulley, P-P-P-Powercard!!, FM O2 Clamp, longtube header, FM high flow cat, same borla 2.25 catback... 159rwhp.
