now all i need to know is rpm signal wire location color(s), besides the b/w wire at the ecu.

and the speed signal wire location and color(s) < for the last hour i have been trying to find this one! im really aggravated can anybody ease this a lil for me please?

Assuming that you are installing it on an NB you can either grab it from the transducer on the gear box or from behind the guage cluster. If its an NA then you might have issues. Some NAs like those with cruise control have a magnetic reed switch attatched to the back of the speedo and you can grab the vss signal from a screw on the guage, no reed switch then no VSS.

All of the traces on the guage cluster are labeled, when you have a look for the VSS reed switch the RPM trace will jump out at you. You can probably put a ring terminal on to the screw on the guage cluster which will save you splicing the wiring harness.

Index of /garage/

Wiring diagrams for just about any Miata.

http://neomiata.com/garage/1996_Miat...20Diagrams.pdf

b/w wire on the back of the cluster is simply split from coil->ecu

Don't see why you don't use the wire at the ECU. It's much easier to get to IMO

cannot remember off the top of my head what it was labeled as. The 180km is the hardware speed limiter for the japanese car. Post up a picture if you can and I'll try and outline it for you.

i just want to keep every thing for it under the dash. plus for some reason my ecu wire are short, so my MS is mounted a lil low witch makes it a PITA to unmount, pull the wires, and remount!

Yes RSW on the back of the instrument cluster is the speed signal.

After searching through some wiring diagrams I see I was wrong stating it is Blk/Wht(tach signal). The lead(RSW) off the board is 2F which connects to Grn/Red, which strangely enough Grn/Red can be accessed on the back of the radio unit.
