NB1 Jap cluster dimmer.

NB1 Jap cluster dimmer.
I've had a Jap cluster in my NB for years, looks good, straight plugin with no issues (metric ftw)
Anyway, since it's a Japanese one it's got no dimmer, fine in daylight, but it's starting to **** me off at night.
I found this thread where a guy has done the change, and have sent him a PM to ask if he remembered what the job entailed.
https://www.miataturbo.net/miata-par...cluster-80060/
But I figured I'd also ask publicly, since it's probably useful info for the heaps of others who do the swap.
So yeah, anybody know how to make the Japanese non-dimming cluster into a normal dimmable one?
Cheers guys.

It shouldn't be difficult. You've got a 12v line and the dimmer power. On the NB the pin is 3G for the 12v Illumination (Red/Black) and 3H (GY/R) for the Illumination Dimmer. If the japanese pins are different you should be able to trace the traces back from the bulb sockets - or go fancier and use a multimeter to tone them out.
