Default NA top on an NB frame? Top choice musing...

So my current top is a disaster and in desperate need of replacement. I've been trying to grab a used one locally but haven't had much luck yet, which brings me to the question in the title: will an NA factory style zippered plastic window top fit on an NB frame? It seems almost everyone is trying to go the other way, and get the glass window top on their cars and I can't seem to find any definitive answer about going the other way.

My reasoning is that in Florida with no AC I'm almost always going to want the rear window zipped down, in fact I would probably leave it that way, parked in the garage, and only zip it up if I'm out and it's raining. I don't want to go to a hard top yet, because my boys like riding with the top down, and I don't see the point in paying the premium for a glass window zipper top if it's usually going to be unzipped. Maybe a better alternative is to DIY a bikini top and spend my money on a roll bar instead? Soon I'll have a different daily driver which I could use if the weather is really bad, but I do aspire towards the occasional driving road trip, MATG and things like that, which could be a tad challenging without a real top.

Thoguht? Experiences? Just drive faster if it's raining???

I have an NA top frame you can have for real cheap(free), The top itself is shot, but the frame is fine. I'm in Panama City Beach.

I don't know if the NA soft top will fit on the NB frame. That said, I have a complete NA soft top (frame and OE style, zip down plastic rear window) from my wrecked 1990 on my NB with no issues. I love the zip down window too. The NB top is on the NA now just to keep rain and dirt out.

In the rain, you get a few drops in from dripping at the end of the soft top, and from the recirculating air. I've never done it for hours at a time, but I don't recall it being an issue or water pooling on the window at highway speeds. Stop and go, you'll probably have issues.

It should, there are some changes to the rear straps so the window can fold down right. That said, I haven't yet installed an "NA" top on an NB frame, though I plan to. Some tops are sold as 90-05 anyways.
