Take it back!
It's alright, I'm not swooning over it or anything. It reminds me a lot of the SW20. I do like that the rear window slides down. Too bad that there aren't going to be any on the road or at Mazda next week, though.
I already have a dog in the fight, so I'm gonna hold out for 949's solution.

I really like the way the retractable coupe looks, but seriously, just make a coupe Mazda. The people want it, your engineers want it, automotive magazines want it.
Miatas are all about simplicity. Make a simpler coupe that's lighter and stiffer.
I wonder how much lighter a real coupe would be? 60lbs? 100lbs? The retractable coupe has to be the heaviest feature on the car by a large margin.

I like it, a lot. If I wanted to dominate autocross or track day bro, maybe wouldn't be my first choice, but as a potential DD/fun run car it's up there. Then my 97 could become the track queen she's destined to be. Looks better than the NC PHRT imo and certainly punches above it's weight class rockin' the Porsche-esqe targa. As someone who rocks a hardtop with no softtop, but still likes to go topless from time to time, this is certainly the best of both worlds.

Targa shape doesn't work for me. If Mazda finds that variant profitable then I'm all for it. I'd still like to see a full coupe with a roofline that extends further back, wraparound rear window and rear quarter windows instead of black painted trim like the targa. Something more C6-esque.

With a retractable rear window, and the rear buttress design, I believe it would be minimal.
Honest to god, my first thought was, "I wish they offered bolder colors." The top is 458 spyder, mMcLaren esq in its design, integration, and beauty
Also, 15 seconds from open to shut..... Compare that against any other manufacturers and mazda gets propcats again

It'll also depend on money factor and stuff for the leasing but I'm 99% sure I'll go for the RF instead of the soft top.

No, the PRHT was available on the Club models, and I've gotta believe Mazda will continue to offer this in the Club model. I could be wrong, and if so, I'll be sticking with the soft top -- the pricing would just get to be too ridiculous.
Waiting as anxiously as all the rest of you (maybe moreso...) for ordering/packaging details.

Had dealer preview passes last night from my buddy's dad. RF looks great. Do want. Would have preferred a hardtop coupe though. Couldn't get close to the car, this poor woman just sat in it all night lower and raising the targa top over and over.

And here Mazda is paying someone to sit in a car and push a button back and forth all day...
