From the hardtop article:
This is stupid. There is another Aftermarket hardtop "manufcturer" doing the same thing. Clearance for your helmet doesn't matter if it doesn't offer clearance for your rollbar.
So far, we know that the shape of it helps with having enough clearance for a racing helmet.

Looks like Fiat really knows how to build a miata:
The Abarth 124 Spider Is The Turbo Fiat Miata You Always Wanted
the rally car looks wicked.

Ten extra horsepower with 184 pound-feet of torque, better brakes, upgraded suspension, a more liberal exhaust, a six-speed manual and a limited-slip differential as standard. That’s how Fiat turned everybody’s favorite Japanese roadster into something very Italian.

it's like they're reliving/recreating the NB2 vs MSM story all over again 20 years later.
they take a Miata, spruce it up a little bit, bolt on a handful of improved parts, turbocharge it, and then give it only like 10hp more with the crappiest powerband known to mankind and using older technology engine.
hopefully this time they at least give it a decent torque curve.
10 horsepower. WHOA WATCH OUT PORSCHE

I don't see how electronically controlled valves in an engine that was new in 2010 is an "older" technology engine.
I think the powerband is very nice, for a street car, making tons of torque between 2,500 and 6K. It just has no top-end whatsoever once that little turbo runs out. It's also a very tiny turbo motor.
It'll look something like this:
this is from a 500 abarath.
I do wish is was a too bad it's not a 2.4t and instead a 1.4t

oh I it has that crap. not bad I guess, but I'm still not impressed with paying serious money for 160/184
it was patented in 02 and launched in 09, not exactly new either
*edit: and the 500 only gets 24mpg with that engine?
and weighs 104lb more than the Miata?
I guess the powerband aint bad though, peak torque before 3k is enjoyable on the street
