Mechanical turn signal malfunction
After work about a week ago I returned back to my Miata only to find that the mechanical function of my turn signals no longer working properly. The left turn movement doesn't go down at all. The right turn works but sometimes fails to return to neutral after finishing my right hand turn. It was very strange for it to fail randomly after 29 years of use; but then again after 29 years of use I'm sure that those plastic pieces become brittle. I'm certain that the only thing to do it to take the steering wheel off and see what exactly failed is the only solution here. I guess I'm just wondering if this is an anomaly or has happened to several other users.
Has anyone ever had the mechanical movements of the turn signals fail on them also?
If so, were you able to easily repair it or did you have to swap out the entire assembly?

First thing it is a turn signal switch you are talking about, not the turn signal. It's confusing to understand what you are talking about at first. Never replaced that piece on a miata but have on several other cars. It's usually not serviceable. Just buy a new one, pull the steering wheel, and replace it.
