LS coil install. No 5v at signal wire
97 miata running ms3. I installed Flowforce LS coils and now car won't start. Did all settings per FF instructions. Im getting 12v to each coil.and the grounds are good. FF suggested using test mode in tunerstudio to check for 5v at signal wires. I did that and am getting 0v at both signal wires. What could cause this? The car was running great right before coil install so I'm not sure how all of a sudden I'm getting nothing from the signal wires.

Yeah I tested it while test mode was on. Is there a way to know if test mode is on? I enabled test mode and then clicked start in tunerstudio. I tried coil output A and B. I still wasn't getting 5v from wither signal wire.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try pulling a plug out and see if it's sparking.

It sounds like you're using the 'coil testing' mode under 'Output Test Mode - Inj/Spk'. Using that will pulse the spark outputs at your chosen dwell and interval. You'd use this if you wanted to check the coils are sparking or not. You'd ideally need an oscilloscope to pick up the signal on the circuit instead of a multimeter since it's a pulsed signal.
For what you want you'd go into the 'I/O' test mode menus and find your spark outputs to turn on/off. This will switch the ouput from 0V to 5V depending on the on/off status. Just be really careful with this mode. If any coil is plugged in and you hold the output on it will overheat the coil.

Skip to around the 4 minute mark.
Basically what you said but make sure the spark plug threads are making good contact to the head and have somebody crank the engine or use the I/O test mode. I usually unplug the injectors if i'm gonna crank the engine but i'm not sure if everybody does. Even in daylight, you should be able to see the spark. If you get spark in the I/O test mode but not while you crank, you have a different problem.
Also, have you plugged in the stock ignition system to see if it runs?

So i repinned the old wire connectors and hooked up my old coil pack and the car started right up. So clearly the coils they sent me are bad. I have emailed FlowForce this information as well. Really sucks because I could have bought used D585 coils and built my own harness, but I went with their setup so it would be a quick and easy install and would work since they say on their site that they test each and every coil.......I guess not.
