Lets talk tires and 15" rims
I think its safe to assume most people here are running 15" rims and 225 series tires.
Right now im running 15x6.5" Heliums with 205/50-15 Azenis.
I would like to pickup a set of 15X7" wheels and run 225 series tires.
After searching around I see that there just isnt much available in 225/45-15 and there is alot more available in 225/50-15. I think that might be too tall though.
What are you guys using with 15x7? Where did you get them?

I know plenty of people run 225 on a 7" rim. 205's on anything larger than 6.5" looks cr.net style to me.

well, from what i've been seeing, the rs2 is a skinny 225. so if those are your target tire, the 7" rim would probably be fine. otehr tires, you might want to have someone measure the width for you.
i've never understood why consistent sizing should be this friggin hard, but apparently it is... tires, shoes.. they all just have their own rules apparently

I wouldn't want a 225 on a 7" wheel, but then it's also going to depend on who's version "225" it is. A performance 225 will be wider than a standard 225. Performance 225 on a 7" = squishy squishy. Likewise a performance 205 will be wider than a standard 205. A 205 azeni fits well on a 7.5-8" wheel. As does the RS2 and KDW.
Both tires on 15x8
Does that look stretched to you?
Here's what an engineer/wheel designer had to say about it

For those not acustomed to race wheels it's en eye opener the first time you yank the wheel over with the wide wheels.

I had an old set of 14x7 wheels I borrowed from a vw guy and I put my 195 T1R's on them. I still slid around a whole bunch. The front end just would not grip.
This time I'm trying the 225 15x7 route. There were several other Miatas at the autocrosses last year running the same size setup and they seemed to be fine. I'll see how well it works for me this year. If I don't like it I'll switch things around.

Call Discount Tire Direct. When I bought mine, they didn't show them online, but they had them on order, and I paid for them ahead of time. They offered to put my name on a list, but I felt better paying for them and not worrying that I'd get missed.
By the way, they have 10% off on their site now, right on the home page.
