Installing flares
I'm thinking of putting on some C2Auto flares. I have set aside a very strict budget for my car (saving for school and a future place to live first, car 3rd). Because of that, I can't afford a shop to install them. (I try to leave body work to the pros..)
I'm thinking about doing them myself. I have access to all shop tools, so those shouldn't be a problem. The only part I'm worried about it chipping the paint, and rust. I don't drive in the winter, so it is mostly moisture. And my car was repainted, and no one can match the color.
When I tape up the fender and cut, will the paint chip up along the line? Is using an air powered cutoff wheel too much for this? How hard is folding up the inner metal on the rears? Once the welds are done, how should I protect them? POR15 and tar? How do you hold them on? The self tappers?
Just looking for someone who has done it. The writeups I found weren't very in depth.

How hard was the rear? I'm really worried about making it water tight.
Did the tape hold the paint down really well? I don't want it flaking up. I almost wish my car had a beat up body so I didn't give a ****.
