Default How accurate is Data Log Lab??

I finally got around to getting some data logs of my car and was playing with them im DLL. I got it to show a power graph (with needed input..weight,gear,transmission) and it's showing some hp/tq numbers. How accurate is this?

Side note, anyone have much exp. with this program? Im having some trouble understanding some aspects of it :(

Curious what the results were?

then it's totally, horribly, and catastrophically optimistic

There are elements it just can't account for - like grades and wind. I made adjustments to the settings for the "power" results to match my dyno sheet - but they were way off on my peak horsepower and way under on my curves pre-peak. Nearly everybody says the same thing - use it for before and after tuning, but not for making dyno power claims.

the power curves in DLL dont resemble dyno curves. Here's a fun example:

here's a real dyno plot of my car (not at the same time)

I have the datalogs from the second graph at home. maybe I'll run those through DLL and see how the curve looks for you.

LOL, that's inline with what I was expecting. Your car makes closer to 250

^^ which would imply that it isn't far off the crank hp (+- a few hp). So i figure maybe 15% loss in drivetrain and get 260rwhp and 237rwtq

And this is at 10psi. (ok, 10.5). While i wait to gather funds to take it to get dyno tuned, i sent Jeremy the data log and map for fun to see what improvements he can make. I want to hook up the EBC and run 12-13psi..which should get me closer to 270-ish.

Mike - 260rwhp at 10psi would be nothing short of phenomenal, given what y8s got (240rwhp @12psi) with his custom setup and a standalone. Unless there's more to your car tan stated in your sig.

oh sorry, you want this graph.

sure it's not quite 260 rwhp, but it also aint quite 10 psi.

Damn. Ok - maybe I was remembering an earlier dyno... impressive nonetheless.

Well then if y8s' car is about the same as mine (10:1 comp/2560r/Hydra/2.5" exhaust/fairly large intercooler/550's) then my guestimate isn't far off ?

and 3" exhaust.

but I mean you can use DLL for power graphs. just dont compare them to a real dyno. the best way to use DLL power graphs is to find a stretch of road that is the following:

1. long
2. flat
3. cop free
4. point A easily entered from a dead stop or <10 mph in 2nd.
5. point B easily exited shortly after redline in 2nd.
6. has a quick route from point B to A with a parking lot and good lighting

and then you can do a run, make changes, do a run and see if you improve power or not.

hmmmmmm

I do want to go with a 3" system...but that would require a BEGI or custom DP and custom exhaust.....both cost more money then have to spend at the moment :(
