EGR Monitor Not Ready
I have a 2000 CA spec miata and been having problems getting the EGR Monitor to ready up. I had a p0421 code so I replaced the precat and the code is gone but now the EGR won't ready even after about 500 miles of driving. Many of those miles are of me driving the "cycle" to ready to egr.
I drove at approximately 52-55 mph for 5-8 minutes and slowed down to 20mph without brakes or downshifting.
Unfortunately for me, here in CA, MY 2000 is the first year where all monitors need to be ready except for EVAP to pass smog. No sniffer test though.
Did some digging around but didn't seem like a common issue. Also read a post about TPS but mine shows to be fine per TORQUE app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All right cadie, you aren't related to my neighbors Patty and Norm are you?
Anyway, have you pulled the top half of the intake manifold and run a brake cable or something through the EGR passage yet? Clearing that passage sent my car from barely passing to cleaner than new.

Can't believe I didn't think of something so simple. It worked. I stabbed the EGR boost sensor passage (intake manifold) a few times with a paperclip and went for a 10 min drive and it's ready now. Thanks!
