Default Diff mounts?

Would this make an open diff capable of holding more power or would this weaken the diff?

All diffs need mounts. silly Open or LSD if it is a 6 inch diff it is weak the gears breack on a torsen the LSD breaks. Diff movement will breack halfshafts etc with wheelhop. FYI

LOL what I meant was i'm thinking about buying solid motor mounts.. and diff mounts. Would the diff mounts help make the diff stronger?

Only with wheel hop situations. in any case it wont help your gears alot.

Have you been in a Miata with the 40% stiffer motormounts? They supposedly help a temendous amount without the negative sideffects created by 100% solid mounts. The noise and vibration I think would be horrendous with not that much benefit. There's also the real stiff diff mounts as well.

You have someone that is gonna fab these mounts for you, i've never seen them for sale retail?

RS Aizawa might make something like that, I know they make the bushing spacers, I've not really looked into it though.

i'm runnin the mmr mounts. no complaints so far. its a little noisier than stock obviously but not too bad.

plus they're about half the price of mazdaspeed mounts.

Not as nice as these: http://www.function-7.com/a0-f7mx05mt.html They don't make diff. mounts, though.

PaKMaN, if anything, stronger diff. mounts would concentrate the make the torque moment more violent on the diff., making the pinion or ring gear snap even more quickly.

shoot son, i think ima order a diff bushing set after work myself, the stock bushings are total crap and i can move the diff by hand. Maybe get a shop to tear down the current setup and put in the 3.9 and increase the lockup on the rx7 while Im at it.

mmr differential mounts on the way right now. Then the diff is going to the shop to have the 3.9 gearset installed (i keep running out of 2nd gear at the autox) and to set the preload correctly
