Dash Lights Out?

Dash Lights Out?
I lost my dash lights in my 2000se about two weeks ago. And no it isn't just the dimmer turned down. I have running brake lights and braking brake lights, I have interior lights, door ding, gauges work, radio light, head lights, blinkers, emergency lights, pretty much everything EXCEPT gauge lights and center heater core lights. My fogs are also out, but I believe that is because they are dead. One has been dead for a few months now. Just being lazy in replacing them. I bought a new dimmer switch hoping that something shorted out in that, but I'm not sure where else to look. Fuses all look good and all the usual culprits of fuses would require tail lights to be out.
I do have a wire from my radio that says dash illumination orange with white stripe. I connected it to 12V constant and the lights go on but when I turn the stalk to turn the head lights on they go off. I read something about DRL dash lights being on a different circuit then the Nighttime lights? Not sure. Any help would be more then appreciated.
