check engine light/warning buzzer/ground
Hey guys, not sure if im in the right thread but ill give it a shot
Im having a problem with my new swap. I got a JDM 1.6L and just swapped it in. And we all know that our engine harness is very straight forward and really has 5 connections. I hooked up the whole wiring harness and everything was ok. Charge light was on, brake light was on and Engine light was on. Went to crank it and tried to get it fired. After probably about 5 tries all the light disappeared. Start still turned and fuel and spark was still there. I can't seem to find the problem because everything still worked. I tried cranking it again and the warning buzzer was going off. Never heard it in my life! I checked my fuses and the MAIN RELAY was sorta running hot.
The weird thing i discovered is the engine light would come on if i disconnected the ground that grounds to the intake manifold. Its two grounds. Even when the key is out of the ignition.
I am horrible when it comes to electronic diagnostics. Anyone have any ideas?
