Building a new harness
I've been looking for over a week now on Miata-specific information on building a new wiring harness and going in and replacing all the wiring in the Miata, as my wiring harness is starting to **** me off.
Catch is, I haven't been able to find much on it via searching google, here, or the other Miata sites. I've already built a harness from scratch for my RX7 - are there any pitfalls I need to worry about with the Miata? Or is it very straightforward to build a Megasquirt-based harness, replacing all the sensors for GM-equivalents?
Also, on a sidenote, where do people recommend mounting the Megasquirt? I'm adverse to my stock mounting location (Early NA), as it had a fair bit of rust there that was a pain in the *** to remove, and the glovebox is not where I want to mount it long-term. Behind the passenger seat seems to be a popular choice, but assuming there is no restrictions on mounting, is there a better option? Hell, I can put it in the trunk without issue if that's desirable.
(Edit) Got a link to FRT_Fun's thoroughly awesome writeup from a kind forum member, thanks guys!
(Edit2) Boo, his writeup is incomplete.
