airfilters: wow this dirty this fast

I'm in Capitan NM, not too far from you actually. While I believe that Houston has a little more humidity than my location, the blowing dirt, etc has really been much greater the past couple years. I found that my filters were pretty dirty more frequently, so
I started to do a monthly check/cleaning.
Since I got rid of the stock air boxes in my car and truck and went to aftermarket cone-type filters, I also went to the Amsoil filters, they are those new 'nano' eA's which do a better job protecting the intake system as a whole. I was also able to get Outerwears for them.
Those 2 changes have made a real difference in how much dirt does not get to the filters and ultimately into the turbo, etc. I periodically do oil testing and my silicone levels dropped considerably after getting better filtration, then dropped even more after adding the Outerwears.
I like the fact that the Amsoil filters are cleanable, good for something like 100K, and don't require oiling, etc which is truly a PITA. Just blow them out and you're back up and running.
