Time trials in your future? What other mods are planned to support that power? Suspension you have handled. Brakes + rear end?

Very nice. I think the 2871 is great. I would get one again. Well, actually I guess I will be one way or the other

Excellent choices, 2871 & AbsurdFlow, and a built motor I assume. Color me green.

Is that green with envy or as in cash since he's buying parts from you!?! LOL

With his built motor he's shooting for the power levels you have on a stock one! How much use and abuse are you giving that motor at that power level? Any feelings or insights into why it's held together so well? I know. Tune, tune, tune....

It's turned into a time trials car, yeah. NASA TTU, Miata Challenge Unlimited, probably some RTA Modified as well. Suspension is covered, but I'm not thrilled with how the RACEs handle high-speed bumps, so I will be upgrading those in the future. Either revalving or replacing, not sure yet. Brakes are Corrado fronts and stock rears with Carbotechs, a Wilwood prop valve, and ducting, but I may end up doing Wilwood calipers in front since I am starting to hit the limits of the stock one-piston calipers, just in terms of pad wear. Drivetrain is covered, 6-speed and a 4.10 Torsen. I may end up with a 3.9 if I find myself running out of gear, but I can also just rev the motor harder.

Certainly not cash.

I don't track my car so it doesn't see the abuse his will. He's buidling in some headroom, I'm at the cusp of exploding. I do drive it pretty hard on the street though. Other than tune, the weight of the car has a lot to do with things like the trans and diff not breaking. I also don't drink it like a 17 yr old. I don't do high rev drops. If someone wants to race me off the line I'll ease into it just to get their hopes up and then peace.

You've definetly bit the track bug hard. You seem to be humping it into submission with all the new stuff though. Wheel to wheel can't be too far off in your future either.

I've gotta get down to a CA Miata track day. I'm hoping to make it down this summer/fall for a weekend. With my crappy skill and DD car all the CA hardcore cars will eat my lunch but it'll give me something to build towards.

Wow, I cant wait to see this come together. And I know there will be videos of said setup destroying the track. One thing though, did you decide against buying a vette?

Not to mention the laundry list of other things currently being done to the car.

Such as shortening the ECU wires in order to save weight.

Wow, thats a little extreme. What kind of weight savings expected? Couldn't be much, 2 or 3 pounds?

I figure the rewiring has been worth around 20lbs between wire, brackets, relays, etc.

To hell w/ the weight savings, it would be nice to have all my wiring JUST long enough to do what it needs to do, and not loop around **** and be all messy and in my way.

I hate wiring. ARRRRRGH!!

Props man, I envy your willingness to hack your car.

I think Sav's getting a deal actually There's a very good reason Sav's only sending me the turbine housing to fab up the manifold and DP. If he sent everything I probably wouldn't return it without "testing" it first.

Fun stuff. I'm glad I'm a part of it. Thanks for the trust Sav.
