Default 99-00 foglamp bulb type and HID

Anyone know what bulb type is used in the 99-00 foglamp? This info seems hard to find since Mazda doesn't acknowledge ever putting foglamps into 99-00.

Also, since they are projector type, I'm curious if anyone's tried HID in them.

Do yourself a favor and throw them both in the trash. Pretty sure there is no replacement bulb that is easily obtainable. The housings themselves melt and deform thus making it impossible for you to disassemble the housing to remove the bulb. The plastic is also super weak so it tends to shatter even when you lubricate it up real nice to make it easier to take apart. Either find a good complete functional one at mazmart or throw them in the trash and turn them into brake ducts.

Interesting. I have nothing to do with mazmart as of 3 weeks ago, but the ones that I saw all were fine. We got a lot of 10AE cars (I think we had 4 of 5 total) and all of the foglamps that were not accident damaged looked OK.

I thought some yellow HIDs might be cool, but if the lamps are melted and bulbs not replaceable it's all more reason to go with the 01+ front bumper and brake ducts.

They are H3. There's definately plenty of complaints about them melting at m.net. Hmm.
