Default 7.8k fair for m62 supercharged M-edition miata?

Hey guys i know this is a turbo forum so im sorry for even mentioning a supercharged car. However, aside from my current diy turbo project, i recently came across a very mint condition low mileage 1995 63k merlot M edition Miata w/matching hardtop that is running a brp m62 supercharger set up. The only aftermarket parts the owner is aware of is the stage 2 clutch (brand unknown) and kyb agx suspension. He says the previous owner told him the car is tuned at 12psi but the current owner doesnt even know what EMS and injectors the car is running. Which makes me kinda iffy about the whole thing

anyways long story short, i got him to come down to 7.8k from what was 8500 obo. Is that a fair price? It seems a bit overpriced to me since there arent many aftermarket parts despite it being an M edition. Any advice/inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Unless you know a car's history/builder and put your own value on the modifications because of that, aftermarket modifications do not increase the value of a car. What you have here is a (year?) Miata that is in Good to Excellent condition with a hardtop. Sources like KBB can quickly give you a suggested value for that car based upon your location.

too expensive, even for a clean low mile M with a sc

but the biggest problem, is him being clueless on the details of the build/setup.

"all new internals"...............but I don't know anything about it, so just trust my clueless guess.

if that was an original owner car with all documentation done and all work done by a proper mechanic, then I'd say it would be close.

If the current owner doesnt know what's on his own car.. I wouldn't touch it.

From the photos I don't see a wideband to confirm that it is tuned

5 bux says the "fresh internals" are cheap oem style replacements due to him burning his original pistons from running lava-temp intake temps and no proper fuel or ignition control or intercooling with that cold side blower

basically your typical craigslist dbag trying to flip a car he knows literally nothing about other than what he can visually see

*edit: I find it hilarious that he mentions 12psi on a non-intercooled blower on pump gas like it's "safe"

Thanks guys im glad i posted, i had very similar reserves and thoughts as you guys mentioned but i just wanted confirmation. He just based the 12 psi based on what the previous owner says and what the boost guage indicites.

As far as ems and injectors, he doesnt even know. I dont see how anyone could run 12psi of FI without a standalone and bigger injectors. No intercooler and stock radiator. Even if the car was done right by the previous owner, the current's cluelessness frightens me. Guess i'll have to pass. Thanks folks!

So i got to test drice the car, no hiccups as far as i can tell, the wideband is one of those JR meters that only has a meter and no real afr numbers. Hard to monitor while hitting boost when its right where the shifter is.
Did a compression test, 170, 150, 160, 165. Ecu is stock, no powercards as far as i can tell but there might be a piggyback, some cheap looking blue box with microusb adapter attached (wish i took pics)
There seems to be some wobble where one of the pulleys is located. I think its the tensioner pulley. Im new to superchargers so i dont even know if that is supposed to even be a moving part as the engine revs? anyways, i got the price down to 6200
is this still worth looking into or a disaster waiting to happen?

That meter probably us not a wideband. With your lack of experience with the platform (no disrespect intended) I would steer clear if I were you.

if ecu is stock it's running on powercards or some sort of other junk.
It's one or the other, and car would blow up without any sort of management.
the meter is likely powered by the narrowband, which means it's virtually useless. just a pretty LED strip.
I bet it's got a JR piggyback. I've seen a couple on some Moss powered MP62 Miata's and JR m45 Miata's
variation in compression is 12% not horrendous but not good

sounds like you want us to tell you to get it. so get it

Blue Box is probably Emanage. Not a horrible fuelling solution.

It could also be a J&S. Listens for knock and retards timing.
