Default 01 parts car: 6-spd, rear-end: Whats it worth?

Crashed 01 parts car. I've searched the 6-spd swap. Mixed reviews and thats fine. What about the rear end? Will it fit my 91? I gathered that the trans will be swapable but on a turbo car there is little point unless the rear is swapped with a lower gear. I could keep it until I'm making 400 wheel, or I want to sound cooler, or just sell it..

Anyone know the ratio on the 01 rear? I think it's 3.9, but I know jack about the newer models (and the older ones too:gay: )

LSD: Torsen?

Brakes. Any idea on capatability?

What the hell is this crashed thing worth? The engine is a no-go. It's basically drivetrain plus various parts, fenders, trinkets and some fuzzy dice.

"2001 Special Edition Miata parts car for sale. Has complete drive train with a 6 speed manual and limited slip differential. 72,XXX miles. Car will not run as it sits because I used the PCM, locks, and immobilizer in another car. This is the cheapest way you will ever find to convert your base model to a six speed and limited slip. What you see is what you get. Hit Left Front."

6 Speed pricing, what I could find. Price looks a bit high.

itll all swap over from what i know. go for it see if 1000$ does the deal. After all you have to haul it around on a flatbed so make sure he knows how dificult he is being and how that will effect the price in your favor. Or sell me the 6 speed.

Great. Now some 01's have "sport" brakes. It's a "special edition" though, so it'll have the better brakes, right? Which brings to mind the simple question: who doesn't want the bigger brakes?

Anyway all I want are the brakes and the rear. Someone want to go in with me on it?
Mag5, whats a good price for the 6 spd? Might be able to get a good deal.

I might have to take me a little road trip today.

well i cant afford to throw down money now ive been spending way to much as it is. but i would say 500$ is a very reasonable price, for say a ebay reserve. they sell for 600 or so all day long. Like i said try 1000 then work up until you hit your limit know it will take a few $$ to get it home. But selling the motor core electronics etc can make 1000$ back easy without the rear. it just takes the work to pull and sell it all luckily you are plugge in to the miata market. Does it have a Hardtop? My dad wants to get one for my lil sis he only wants to spend 600$ though lemme know,.

I'll probably go look at it today, seeing as how I'm free. It would be sick to part that beyatch and hook up the for-sale section.

The brakes are good to go as far as the swap is concerned. Sport brakes are 10.6" allegedly. Which would be all types of nasty. Not to mention the LSD rear that might be a bit more suitable than the stocker. ****, I want it.

It's unclear if the non-sport brakes are smaller, I believe the pad is smaller, not the rotor, but thats from some OT arguement elsewhere

pretty sure all 6-speeds had the torsen, but dont quote me on that.

needless to say, you've got lots to play with if you get it. plus I might want parts.

For what he wants you can make some good money on it. You could as others have said sweeten the deal to $1000 if he already has buyers lined up and still make good money.

Why is the engine a no-go? Sounds like it's just missing the ECU. I could use a spare powerplant if you'd be willing to ship it.

tha price on the torsen is crazy, I got my whole setup for 500shipped across country. drive shaft, housings, meatball, axles, and brakes... from a 97, but the price for a 01 shouldnt be that far off.

I would say 1000 for both is a fair price seeing as a 5spd tranny can be had for 100$. 500$ for a spd seems reasonable, at least I wouldnt pay any more than that.

Yes I agree the links I posted are a bit high. Perhaps that's why nobody had purchased them. At any rate, they were the only two samples I could find at the moment, and I just needed a ballpark figure.

As far as the engine goes, if it's an easy fix that's great. Any parts I don't want hell yes, I'll redistribute evenly among MT.net, least I could do.

Dude says I can look at it monday.

Let me know after you look at it how much you think is fair for the engine+shipping (if it's good).

Another example of how waiting to look will cause one to lose out.
Fact is, NB wrecks bring pretty good $$ in most areas, much more then many here might realize, and wrecked NBs available to the general public are not yet that common. Most are sold through dealer/rebuilder only auctions.
