Yeah i gotta say. I had more lag in the lower level areas, and main hub areas. Lions Arch is pretty bad. But in big combat fights, or further out in the world it gets better.

News Flash (for some), GPU does not matter in GW2. Your cpu matters more then your gpu for getting good frame.
I get the same fps on all setting as soon as I'm out in the world with other players or wvwvw do to by AMD PII x4 840
Game is poorly hardware optimized.

Running my i7 920 at 4ghz with HT on. Vidya card is a GTX680. I find it to be plenty acceptable at all times @ 1920x1080. Every setting is all the way up. 60+ FPS 95% of the time.
I do agree with the statements about it not being very optimized. It seems very beta-like in terms of performance.

For example, take any console ported game. Those all run like garbage (and look like garbage might i add). GTA4 older game but still an amazing example. That game had horrid graphic issues. Missing textures, flat spots, missing ground, microstuttering, lagging, freezing i could go on and on. It was poor, and the performance suffered greatly. Which should not be the case when i'm running a rig that has 10 times the power of a 7 year old console.
This goes on a lot with console ported games. BC2, and BF3 was one of them. While they did do a dang good job, i still think GW2 is much better. The problems i'm finding with the game are unavoidable such as falling through the map. Just things that are hard to find on such a huge game. As far as hardware goes, mine seems to be working flawless with this game. I'm having more micro stuttering with PS2, and borderlands 2 right now.
Maybe i'm biased due to the machine i'm running games on.

LOL, yeah i gained a good 20FPS on this game after updating my nvidia drivers.
Which is why I say this game cant be THAT heavily cpu reliant. Just seems more CPU reliant than most games - which if very normal for an MMO this massive.

Planetside 2 Beta Key - Beta Keys - Curse
If i would have known i would have given you a shout. Next time the beta opens up i will for sure let you know.
It's such a toss up to put time in playing PS2 or GW2 they're both great games.
