That was a fun race. After the Japanese touring car race, I was too afraid in my passes and when I let people by, lost a lot of time. But I finished the race! As usual, my qualifying didn't reflect my practice times and then I took forever to get up to pace during the race.
We still have work on the qualifying setup, here's a few suggestions:
1. make us ghosts, so we can't get dirty laps from drafting, that killed me
1b. as an alternative, make it known that dirty laps count. I sacrificed a few hot laps to try and get a clean next lap, when I should have just kept going.
2. Someone should take a cell pic of the qualifying results and be the marshal for the line up, way too much confusion.
3. For the line up, NO ONE ------- MOVE. So many people were trying to get in place with half the pack still moving 30-40mph. With all the confusion, we were half way to the chicane before we gave up and went with the order we had.
4. Said marshal with said cell pic should be the only one to talk, calling out car by car who needs to be in front. They and the person moving to the front should be the ONLY ones moving.

Why are you guys so worried about qualifying? As long as the faster guys go to the back, who cares? If you really want to get serious about qualifying, you should consider how anyone can easily sand-bag and start at the front.

Yeah I'll make everyone a ghost for qualifying. Then have the lobby setup post-qualifying to put us in order of our times, fastest to slowest. Then I'll snap a cell phone pic just in case and tell people where to go.
It is hard to cordinate 14-16 people to get in their spots, especially if they've never raced with us before. I usually have to yell over everyone, lol. It would probably help if two or three of the regulars reminds everyone to STFU when we I'm trying to say something productive. It's amazing the difference between one person saying STFU and 3 people saying STFU, lol.
Although I don't want it to seem like we can't BS whenever. I think that's some of the appeal of it all. I enjoy picking hustler's head about AST's randomly, I'm sure other enjoy the same type of thing. I don't want it to seem like I'm the raid leader and we're going 40 deep into Blackwing Lair in WoW, lawlz.
On another note, I played around with some of the AI cars last night. I think I've decided on Sebring Club Circuit for the track. Laps times around 1:11-1:13 un-tuned in a few cars. I know some don't like short tracks, but it keeps the racing so much closer when it is shorter. There's so much 'Merica in these cars!

You cannot deny American Iron. When there's 30+ cars on the grid, screaming, sliding a lot...you are required to respect it. Its pretty much the most manly thing I've seen in my life.
