I set the difficulty to "Hard" which I think turns all the assists off, but leaves the auto transmission on. I know that ABS might help me, my braking distances are fairly long because I'm still locking them up fairly frequently so I start braking earlier.
Will test more tomorrow night, thanks for the tips.

Anybody know the difference between simulation and normal steering?
Edit: AHA!
if you have ever used a wheel in forza you will know what they are talking about straight away.
the easyest way to describe it is:
go in to test drive mode and bring up all the information.
in the bottom left corner there is a steering wheel, while stationary move the anolog stick from left to right. you should see the steering wheel move about 110 degrees in each direction.
now accelerate to about 50,(easiest to see this on the test track if you have it) now do the same move the analog stick from left to right. you should see the steering wheel only move 45 degrees or so.
if you accelarate past 100 and repeat, the steering wheel will only move 10 degrees
the simulation mode in forza 4 will mean that the steering wheel will turn the full 110 degree while driving at 100mph. if you were allowed to do this in forza 3 it would cause you to slide and/or spin. as its very difficult to move the steering wheel only 10 degrees using the analog stick forza 3 lends you a hand by only turning the wheels until they reach the limit of there grip, in forza 4 there will be the option to turn that off

BTW, I'm uncertain on how much power to give our B-spec cars. My Mazdaspeed parts list shows that the 2 only gets exhaust as the only engine mod. The fit gets a restrictor. Maybe we should adjust this class to B-class Honda Challenge H2 or H3 and work on tunes for a Prelude, Civic, and Integra. With that said, the 170hp B spec cars are fun, I think the 100hp authentic power will get boring for most.

Well I know my tunes are close to real-life B-spec, but it makes for a good time!
The Mazda2 and Feista weigh in at 1800lbs and have 159-160hp, the 2 has more torque though . The Fit, on the other hand, weighs in at around 2100lbs, so I gave it about 176hp. The 2 & Feista have a PI of 487 I think the Fit has a 486 or 489, I can't remember.
The next race will be fun, JGTC cars are a blast just to even lap around a track. The tunes will play a big role I believe.
BTW, for what it's worth, I use simulation steering and don't have any issues. I do however, have a pretty good touch with the analog stick

What track are we running? Give me the damn parts list already. I'm excited to be back in B class, that's always good fun.
I should try simulation steering again, now that I know what it is and I'm a little better now.

Well the next race is with the JGTC cars in R2 875 at Motegi Full. Taking a break from regular racing for the holidays and doing it on 1-8-12.
Choices are the:
#6 EXXON SuperFlo Supra
#12 Calsonic Skyline (2003 model)
#18 Takata Dome NSX
Parts are pretty simple for all 3 of these cars. Max tire width, first restrictor, and wheels if you can swing them being lighter and still be in R2.
For this coming weekend and next we're doing a time-trial. I won't be able to do these, but I'll updated the main thread with the rules and specs.

Ok, thanks. Uploaded some of my favorite pics to my storefront, no idea how to upload them to here.
That shot of rich and I close was at 106mph and we had zero contact, this was right after I passed and cut in front of him. Lapped traffic caused a lot of grief to myself and zac carter, which you can see in the two crash photos. Still epic fun.

Race 6
425C Miata MX-5 Official Times:
1.) TPM Hentai - 45.177
2.) Flier129 - 44.579
3.) BangBangJDM - 45.419
4.) Richterat83 - 45.838
5.) Curly2Duz - 45.976
6.) ZacCarter - 46.031
7.) BGEEZY02 - 46.114
8.) Beatles4 - 46.844
9.) Lycanthrope20 - 51.318
10.) BlankCzech - 44.323
11.) Urbanfuturistic - 47.155
12.) GetchiSum - 48.994
13.) A N D R 3 W 92 - DNF
14.) RageDerpin’ - DNF
Almost a full grid which was exciting, unfortunately it also led to some collisions and spins. The miata on the oval track proved to be interesting for sure; most likely this will be the last time we do a track as short as this because there was hardly room to stretch the cars legs out and get in some clean passing. A note to keep in mind also is that this league does race with simulation damage, so hard downshifts from 5th gear to 2nd will cause you to over rev your engine.
There was also some confusion to the flying start but with the track being so short and the new racer’s there wasn’t alot of room to group up. I’ll be making video of all of our flying laps to showcase and give everyone an idea on where to be and when to be there. The fastest of the warmup race will always be at the rear of the pack so they are handicapped and have to work though traffic, new racers will be at the front of the pack, ZacCarter will lead the pace lap and call go at the start finish line. We normally try to keep a pace of 50mph the entire lap; adjust your speed accordingly to get in our starting group as tight as possible.
As soon as the Forza servers come back online the replay will be hosted in my (ZacCarter’s) storefront of last nights race. The last few races are also posted too.
We look forward to next race as follows: Twin Ring Motegi // Full Circuit 1-8-12 9pm EST // JGTC GT500 Calsonic Skyline vs. Takata NSX vs. Exxon Supra
Stay tuned for parts lists and official test and tune schedule times.
Thanks guys! -ZacCarter
