Forza 4

I think im gonna buy a 360 for F4. Ive always played GT and I think Im gonna do it right this time and get a wheel, a cheap racing seat and finally hook my surround sound up.
Is GT5 really that bad? I loved 3 and 4, Ive played forza 3 for friends and it was okay, Ive always like GT better, but a damn 360 is so much cheaper than a PS3.
Also in case I go with the 360 which wheel you guys using
Ive noticed the MS wheel has paddles and no clutch. I think Id like a clutch pedal but I figure Id get tired of it and want the paddles later, any have both?

Well GT5 is awesome with the Force feed back wheel, and associated buisiness that will present a pissed off wife hazard in a peasant Sized 1200 sqft apartment. It sucks with a controller. I own both systems. I like PS3 better. GT5 was just straight up designed to be used with that whole entire get up. End of story. It sucks with a controller. F3 was still arcadey enough to be fun with a controller. 2 was the best GT. Forza is progressing I think. Anyways, I got my ps3 and it started screwing up a year later, then Playstation paid for me to ship it to them, then ended up sending me back a better system. (Maybe after my whole speech about how everything I owned was sony, I don't know). My Xbox got the RROD after 3 months, and they told me to go jump off a bridge, and I fixed it myself.

Even if GT5 plays better with a wheel, the actual game sucks, it's boring to play, the UI is ******* awful and there's a distinct lack of quality races.
The AI is awful, as are the SFX

Also, GT5 may be a much better game with the wheel, but it's retarded that they built a game that requires a $300 wheel and a bench to install it on, to be worth a ****. F3 may have been slightly more arcade, but it's exponentially easier to play and have fun with, with the basic controller. GT5 with the controller is damn near impossible to drive clean and accurately, especially with driver aids turned off. Even then, GT5 is still lackluster.

The biggest thing that makes F3 so much better than GT5. The AI in GT5 is horrible ****. I was hoping they would have fixed it since GT1, but it's still basically the same, dumb AI who ignores your line and runs you off the road. And they stick to the track like glue, so they hit you and spin you out, but you can't pay them back. Everything about GT5 just feels boring and doesn't invoke any interest. I bought it when it came out, sold it after a few weeks, then bought it again a few weeks ago to give it another shot. Played it for a week or two, and decided it still sucked. There is also a lack of downloadable content. F3 has had tons of track packs and car packs to download. If F4 is an improved F3, and could have weather and night driving, it would be the perfect racing game.

I never really had issue with the Forza AI. Always seemed to race pretty fair, well, most of the time. On occasion I would get plowed in the *** by a late braker, but I'm not sure if that was on purpose to pay me back, an accident, or just me braking early. At least they respond to you and give you a sense that they were aware and cared about what you were doing around them. I also liked having the option to get the guy in front of you a little loose to pass them if they were slowing you down. Try that in GT5, it won't happen. I hope F4 improves further on F3 AI.

Guys I have to say, I played Forza 3 for the first time a few days ago, like actually sat down, started from the Career mode, and went from there, and wow. WHAT A GAME!
Gran Turismo may be "the ultimate driving simulator", but Forza MOTORSPORTS is what it says it is - motorsports through and through. I was playing the game fully aware that I was in a race, not a driving session. Even in my little Ford..thing, it was already fun. The graphics are stupid pretty, like they're just so fluid and smooth, I can't tell you how much I enjoy them. The driving physics SEEM a little funny, otherwise the car response is amazing.
I LOVE how you can change things from engine swaps/tranny swaps (FUUUN), to little things as specific as the tire PSI you want on your front and back tires. Amazing, I love this game.
I love motorsports, I love watching it, I love playing racing games on various consoles, I love autocrossing, and when I play Forza, I feel like that game was made for people like me. I don't feel like I have to force myself to like it or adapt to its needs, Forza fulfills mine (cheeeeesy).
And after a few races and being given a Fiat 500 Abarth Essesse, my mind just blew out from the back of my head and I was sucked in.
Unfortunately I played this at a game rental place (like you pay to play per hour), and don't actually own an Xbox 360, but I'm starting to believe that Forza 3 can single handedly convince me to buy an Xbox JUST for that game.
ALL that being said, if Forza 4 is even better, then we really do finally have the perfect racing game

Well seeing as the Forza series has progressively improved throughout the series, no one title changing too much as to make it seem like a different game... Forza 4 should be an improved Forza 3. Especially considering how recent F3 is. I'm sure it's just a tweaked F3 with double the polygon count in the graphics department, tweaked AI, and whatever else they did to it.

Watch some of the Forza 4 YouTube reel, I think it will be good. My only complaints are that the AI is not smart enough to drive a defense line, when you slightly break traction on exit the car stops, and cars bounce off the curbs. Supposedly all of this is fixed.

I'd recommend the Fanatec Wheels for anyone interested in a wheel for forza 4.

+ 1 for Fanatec here.
I went back and played GT5 yesterday after throwing it in the closet because it sucked the day it came out. It isn't any better even after loads of updates. Still a steaming pile of crap.
