Ive been eyeballing this myself. From the videos it seems to be pretty simulator-y, certainly more so that ******* Forza and other such douchebaggery. Its hard to say without actually playing it though. I wonder how the driving physics are.

thats exactly what I was thinking. I am quite tired of the douchey Forza and Grand Turismo BS, and RaceRoom is pretty crappy in terms of "free play", yet doesnt feel quite good enough to pay for it.
From what I read the physics are pretty good, and realistic.
From the little things I saw in this trailer also supported that, like hitting the rubble strip coming out of the apex.
imma keep and eye out to see if it will get cheaper during the steam sale

Seems pretty cool so far. Well the 4 laps before it hard locked Windows that is. Driving dynamics is miles better than Forza 4, which I thought was a lot of fun. You can see and feel the car loading and unloading the suspension as you slide sideways over a berm. Looking forward to some bug fixes and well some opponents.

Thanks midpack, good to hear. I also have heard this recently from a friend of mine who purchased it last night.
I think imma pick it up soon too, seeing if it will drop anymore in price.

Anyone else pick this up yet? Really enjoying this game, and the bi-weekly update cycle. AI was added 2 updates ago and while it still needs some work is a lot of fun to race with. My current favorite car is the 599XX EVO. So much grip and so much power. It must take a special kind of insanity coupled with giant ***** to drive one for real. I get nervous at times thinking there is no way I can hold this turn at the current speed. Which of course means that there is a good chance I will end up in a 120mph slide and at that point the only proper thing to do is mash the throttle and try to steer out of it crash.
Typical BMW driver out for a Sunday drive, on a race track
This guy was going so slow he couldn't keep it on track.

Can I use keyboard and mouse for this? No. I need to find myself a wheel. I've been needing a new racing game that isn't Forza or GT. This looks really quite nice. Off to steam to check it out.
EDIT: Downloading now. I'll just have to get by with the PS3 controller for now.

This game is closer towards iracing vs GT/Forza. It's not quite as realistic as iracing, but it's pretty decent. I'm sure it'll be changing with more patch releases. Very pretty game and the sounds are entertaining. Limited amount of content right now though.

I've about given up on this game. The worst controls ever. Getting the steering settings acceptable is unnecessarily hard on a retarded level. And even having most of these steering settings does away with any of the cars real steering/handling characteristics. At least as real as they made them in the first place.

Some massive improvements with this update. Gone are the demolition derby matches at every tight turn and the "please hit me and make me spin out targets" plastered all over our cars. Which is fantastic because the collision physics are still abysmal.
Cars that were undriveable (with a 360 controller) before are now a lot of fun. Well except for the Huayra, that car just plain sucks. Not only does it have a stupid name but it drives like ****. Feel like I'm driving a lifted F350 diesel with mud tires.
The new Ferrari is awesome. Amazing how fast a 40 year old F1 car is.
- Lotus Exige 240
- Ferrari 312T F1
- Revised AI behavior
- Collisions performance improvements
- New sky box with clouds
- Fixed gui issue with spinner
- Improved x360 controller support at low speed
- Fixed gearshift sound on BMW M3 e92 Drift
- Improved rearview mirrors & added more rendering options in the launcher
- Default launcher theme: opponent skins are randomized from all available skins
- Default launcher theme: opponent setups are now set on a per-track basis
- Launcher: control configuration's Xbox360 section revised
- Fixed end race chart display bug
