Could you make it so that you need a certain amount of post and must be a member for at least 2-3 months.

still don't see the reason. It's 10 posts, jump in and say hi, ask questions, do something, that's the point... get involved, don't just come here to find the info you want and then leave.

Well, usually the newbies just ******* post without searching and people freak.
So a newbie searches, finds the answer, but also has a pertinent question. Then they post, not realizing the thread is 8 years old.
Is it really that bad?
This usually works when the thread sucks..
