And although it's one of the most deserving threads I've ever seen for a threadjack, this is one helluva detour.

What it sounded like was bragging... "look how much money I spent and I'm not even going to tell you what I bought, you have to wait until I'm ready". I'm stoked somebody has the cash to go big like that... way to go man, pretty ballsy in the current economy. So why the hell did you spend the time to write 3 complete sentences telling us why you weren't going to tell us what you bought until later.

What would be AWESOME at this point is to take 10minutes and TELL US WHAT YOU BOUGHT, why you decided on those parts rather than some others you considered, what your going-in-goal is, how long you think it will take you to complete, if you need any help,

We know FM is fantastic when it comes to customer service... it's one of the main points that always comes up in the FM vs. Others threads.

Like I said back in the very second post... JUST TELL US WHAT YOU BOUGHT AND TURN THIS THREAD BACK INTO CAR DISCUSSION. We can wait for pics... for now.

About your signature... is that the list of stuff you bought? Please tell me you didn't spend $8k+ on stuff and a Voodoo box made the list.

I'll mention that to the owner. we met him when we were there. nice guy. wants to put plants on the roof.

btw, dont go there between 11-2 or 6-close. go for late late lunch.

and dont tell samnavy the beef is organic grass-fed and healthier for him than Jesus-n-Out.

when the **** did they jack up the price on the tuna?

just when I'm trying to start eating healthy again...

OP:

First line of the "Cliffs" of your post - "I spent a lot of money"

You set the tone, don't complain about how people react. Considering this is generally a DIY site, we don't care to hear about how fast you spent XXXX amount of dollars.

What we do care about is either a real review of the parts you are using/going to use, or an explanation of why you decided to go that route. This explanation of the latter may include the help you received from the FM staff, but should not include a half-page, run-on paragraph about your $8200 reach-around. Really, customer service is great, but make it short and sweet, and figure out what the **** a paragraph break is.

What are your goals?

How are you going to get there?

How helpful was FM in helping you realize this? (avoid lengthy story about shipping here)

Are you going to install all of this? What are you going to fabricate yourself? What engine management and why?

Come on man, this isn't epinions...it's where you "Discuss how to turbo your Miata."

I really didn't plan on going extremely deep into my plans in this thread as it doesn't seem like the correct area. Figured I would give a shot out to FM for the good support and great prices. My bad. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, I am coming home for RnR soon. Pretty much all that I think about out here (besides my missions) is coming home and working on/driving a Miata. I am normally a DIYer, but because I am extremely limited on time (2 weeks) I wanted to buy parts that would be quick and easy to install, and limit the chance for a surprise that would take a lot of time to fix since I will be installing everything myself. This is also my DD, so I can't have parts on and off all the time. I just want a fun car to cruise around town. I plan to buy an older Miata later on as a track car, with most everything DIY. The list in my sig is most of what I bought, I left out a lot of maintenance related and smaller things out. I went with the Voodoo box because I am not going to make enough power to justify anything more expensive.

For the people who like it short and sweet, that is why there are cliff notes. So you don't have to read about my $8200 reach around. Believe it or not I had no agenda for mentioning how much I spent (or how fast). I have been saving up for a while, just bought the parts at the same time. Don't know why I mentioned it, just did.

In that case dropping that much money with FM was the best way to turbo your Miata.

I guess it's hard to give a review of the parts since you probably haven't seen them yet, and will have very little time to install them.

If you can install and have a running turbo Miata in 2 weeks I'll be impressed, as I'm sure many will be. Hopefully you can take pics and write up a build thread later when you're bored in the desert. That would be something I'd look forward to reading.

I'm assuming your goals are sub 250whp, but you're right, you can include those in a seperate build thread.

Glad to hear you are happy with FM, and for the price paid, I'd certainly hope you would be. I know they are pretty good regardless of what kind of coin you're dropping.

It's good to hear that one of our soldiers over there has such a good project to look forward to!

Sorry we got off on the wrong foot, but consider how you're coming across next time as well. It's all left to the reader's interpretation...and what sounds to you like a good customer service story can easily sound like gloating to others.

I received a sway bar last week, and I got a call from FM customer service just to check on me and make sure everything went okay.

Nice touch. Sure can't complain about that.

you and dohcpanther should get together, talk about shooting people, whack-off over FM, and touch ***** together. I wouldn't expect anything less from a couple miata drivers.
