The engine bay is larger overall. I suspect that Stuart Mills just welded up the radiator mounts that way without paying too much attention, and it's stayed that way because now the bodywork fits it. Not the most critical dimension, really.
Battery can go in a stock-ish location, I believe. In the car in the video, it is in the passenger area. That car is not completely representative of all builds.

Stuart put the radiator vertically probably because it was easier to design the frame that way. We kept it vertical during the redesign because the stock hoses allow it and it gives a lot more room for LS pulleys. I can't guarantee, but I suspect you don't need the short pulleys like you do in the Miata. We'll find out when we build our own.
