I'm a bit curious about fitment around the diff on an NB, because I think the way that one is it might hit stuff
I am doing a different NB midpipe and axle back. I honestly think the piping around the diff will be easier on the NB, it has the single piece axles. The one thing I am worried about is the hangers for the muffler. It is a big piece and there are only 3 hangers on the back of the NB. I had to add an additional hanger on my NA to make it balance decently by itself.

my main concern is with the "ladder" near the back of the diff
each of the exhausts we've fabricated so far it was a pain to keep everything away from each other in that specific location
Hey Lars, when do you think you would be ready to start talking to potential buyers. I delayed my turbo build until this winter due to my horrible money management. I would love to have a chat with you about it.

I think I got the axle back mostly good, I need to build the mid pipe on Monday and hopefully that keeps everything in place.

Your V-band outlet for churbo- I have seen these on the eBay, and I am concerned about the wastegate opening up to a flat section where the gas has to flow down at a right angle. is this issue?
Your exhaust pipe materials, what are they?
Do you have a list of what you bought, IE how much straight pipe, what sort of bends etc....
Clockin' lots of dollars (and the trubo) what dictated the position on the log, both front to back, and up-down as it does the polar rotation around the center of the log itself?
I've bought the flanges and the els. Looks like the els will need to be nipped a bit at the ends so they all line up in their nice little holes on the flange...

Honestly I am not sure. I will find out in a bit when I run it on a car. I am planning on porting the wastegate hole to help with boost creep.

16 gauge aluminized steel for all the pipes.

Piping really depends on if you have a NA or NB. You should be able figure out most of the bends required from the pictures I posted.

Position on the log was dictated by AC/PS and how hard it would be to install the turbo onto the manifold. One of the things I disliked about my Begi manifold was that it was a PITA to bolt the turbo to it.

I had the trim both the weld els and tees down to fit the BP flange.
Looking great Lars. With your setup, I'm only MS, injectors, clutch, oil lines, water lines, turbo, intercooler, piping, and money away from turbo'ing the daily '01. Woot!
On the NA I remove the coolant hose from the metal line. Then bolted the line to the block, and beat on it with a hammer. Cut the coolant line slightly, reattached the line, and now there is clearance. I suspect the same process can be done on a NB with no problem.
What is the approximate cost to weld up a manifold? I have welderds would need to buy the flanges and bows.
Ace stainless is the place to get weld el's from. Then head flange will cost you $40-$80 depending on quality. Expect $15-$35 for the t2/t3 flange to mate to the turbo.
This is my first time building a manifold. I'm using a 13g turbo off of an auto 1g dsm. I ordered the manifold "kit" from mazworx. The flange for the head is basically flat stock, so it has been through the surface grinder. The inlet flange for the turbo was rougher than a cob. I ended up milling all 4 sides, surface grinding both faces, boring the center hole and milling the radius in it so it will sit tighter against the manifold. The turbo outlet flange had 3 staggered passes on the mating surfaces, so it had a couple of steps in it. I am using an external wastegate, so I made a plug for the wastegate hole, welded it in place, milled it flat and then put it on the surface grinder.
