Default Weld repair on cracked cylinder head

Hey guys, im looking for some advice and i apologize if this is the wrong section and im sorry about the wall of text, I have no idea how to format this but i really need some help deciding what to do with my car. My MSM seems to have a crack in the cylinder head because i have found an exhaust stud leaking coolant. I recently "blew" the OEM radiator and replaced it with a spectra autozone one. Worked fine for a week however today i noticed even the new one seems to have been over-pressurized during a drive and it sprayed some out of the sides where the aluminium is joined to the plastic. My amateur theory is that it is getting air in the cylinder head after it cools down and that is causing problems. Ive been monitoring the coolant temps with a phone app and it has not overheated. I have access to a ac/dc welder at my job and i was curious if it is possible to disassemble the head and attempt to lay down some aluminium filler rod wherever the crack is. Do you guys think id be better off tracking down a used head/motor doing a resurface and slapping it on there?

Thanks for any advice,
Sam

If it was me, I wouldn't bother welding it. I believe the msm uses a bp4w, which pops up here pretty regularly. If you run a vvt capable stand-alone then the vvt is the way to go.

edit: noticed your sig has vvt w/ms2, so there you go.

Shouldn't the radiator cap (16 lbs?) bleed off the pressure before 'blowing' anything?
