PS - the RX-7 alternator works great! I use it because I have multiple extra gauges, more powerful coils and a bigger fuel pump. The only downside is that it requires some "modifications" (i.e. grinding) to fit and the whole internal regulator thing needs to be taken into account. Also the pulley has 5 ribs, instead of 4, but it can be run as-is using those 4 ribs closest to the engine. Of course one can swap pulleys with the NB alternator.

If it's of any use to anyone I bought an na8 alternator that was rated at 150 watts online. Same case and size and hookups.

i used a version of this. works great.
my Maxxecu mini has limited gpo's so i chose this solution.
