Default stock NB2 comparison

First of several test we plan to run. These runs about an hour apart.

Optimum spark table didn't change at all. VVT table changed quite a bit but resulted in about the same power. Square top obviously wanted less fuel past 7k.

Ran out of time on dyno today so we didn't try the spacers. We'll go back next week and do that. As expected, a bit more power on top with the S2, no significant gains in midrange.
What is key to note for folks who set their redline at 7000 (stock redline) is that there are no gains below that. We don't yet know if it will make more power below 7k with the spacers.

More to come.

Did you retune for the new manifold or just swap and run?

So I'm not that versed in intake plenum theory but doesn't the physics change dramatically for boosted engines (kind of like exhaust scavenging)? I am just curious if this will show more gains on a boosted motor than an N/A where the engineering is more important instead of plenum volume and flow.

It seems from that dyno that folks with stock red line should stay away. You lose more between 5-6 than you gain anywhere else in the rev range < 7.

Oh, and thanks for doing this. for you from me as well.

Looking forward to results on boosted engine. My redline is currently set at 7.7K but I generally shift, even when driving in anger, at just past 7K.

I don't think the blurb about the tune was in the post when I posted. But whatever.

CRAP - I've got a port-matched Flat-top and now have one of these because I was POSITIVE that the Skunk2 intake manifold would flow better due to the Flat-top's narrow channel to the plenum chamber behind the TB.

Wont spend much time beyond 7,200rpm so there's no point switching manifolds for me - at least I won't have to go through the manifold installation hassle again :P

Pos-cat added for Dyno results, looking forward to more.

Awesome to see some real results. Now, I'm wondering if on a turbo car the gains will start once the engine is moving 150whp worth of air. Subbed

Funny, this is exactly my experience with my home brew one. Sound increase and all. Thanks for the data, looking forward to spacer dynos!

This is exactly what I'm waiting for as well. If results are good for boosted cars, 949 should start selling these.

I bet it makes more power everywhere on boost, when the outright airflow requirements are higher at all rpm above boost threshold.
