Shitty Connectors causing problems
Ran into a strange problem on an NB. The Engine Temperature Sensor was kicking out a P0118 randomly and replacing the sensor didn't help.
Turns out that the three connectors that are mounted on the plate in the front of the engine are prone to getting wet and allowing water to get down into the connectors. One set of male and female inside the larger connector of the three had enough corrosion on the interface to cause random disconnect and a low and high resistance connection. Cleaning with a tiny file corrected the problem.
