Problems with Skunk2 Intake Manifold
#21
Just to add my experience. I have run a modified Honda B18 Skunk2 intake for 5 years. I'm currently remaking it due to the welds around the flange starting to crack. I have had heaps of issues with the throttle cable vibrating out of the mount. So much so it's part of my checklist before every run... It's double cable tied as well. I have also had issues with anything attached to the intake manifold coming loose or failing like the TPS, throttle body bolts shearing etc. All are loctited and I carry spares.
My fixes will be to increase the flange size from 10mm to 12mm and add a new diagonal brace back down to the block. My intake is a massive cantilever, even more so than the miata Skunk2 plus my engine is basically solid mounted. Vibrations are worst for me under 4k, over that the engine is smoother.

5krpm+ vibration
I have the skunk2 manifold and throttle body with oem bp4w intake gasket. I'm finding over 5k rpm the pedal gets a bad vibration. The shifter has a small vibration too. Everything of mine was balanced except the act clutch however it has balance marks in it.
Thanks,
Phill
