I was gifted free vvt pistons and I wanted to ask the forum if these visually look ok to reuse in a future build? I'd of course use new rings and hone. These pistons have about 110k miles and show no sign of detonation. There are some light marks near the top on the sides of the skirts but other than that they look ok to me but I have no experience myself.
My plan for a future build is to use oem vvt pistons for a higher compression e85 only build. So i would like to have about 10.5:1 compression. I want to do this to save cost and so that I can drive the car in cooler weather and not have to worry about piston slap.
also are there any good oem equivalent pistons that are available? Idk if any of these brands like DNJ are good to use or if I should just stick to using oem. New oem pistons I'd like to avoid buying as they are pricey but I'm open to suggestions because even though I'm in a budget I would like to do things as best as I can.
