Need clarification on FF R8 COP install 1.6
Hey all. I'm somewhat electrical-stupid. I'm installing flowforce r8 COP on my 1.6 Miata. I've got the two connectors re-pinned for the COP, and need some clarification on the connecting ECU to tach portion.
I've got a speedyefi pnp ECU. Instructions on their site state "Connect a suitable output from the ECU to pin 2I on the ECU connector for proper functionality." I don't really understand what this is meaning. Also, it says to join pin 4 and 5 together, but also says to solder them together. Will the ignitor be plugged back into the harness at all after this or do I leave it off? It will just be pins 1 and 8 left in the harness, are these supposed to go anywhere or are they made obsolete?

Ok so an update, I jumped the "tach out" on the speedy board as per speedyefi, and according to them I shouldn't need the resistor, but I got no tach at all without it. I put the 1k resistor in, but the tach only works sometimes now. I'm not sure what I need to change or mess with. It will go from working fine, to dropping to 0, to bouncing up and back to 0. Like something is loose but nothing is loose 😅 any suggestions?
