NB2 turbo hot start rough idle
What's up guys! Been having a very annoying problem with my turbo NB recently, anytime I hot start the car I get a rough idle.
Whenever it happen's, I look at the afr guage and i'm running in the 9's afr at about 600 rpm instead of 950-1000. I also get a check engine the whole time. Usualy if I step on the gas to about 2000 rpm for 15 to 1 min it clears out and the car idles okay after, that but the car sometimes won't even run at idle.
Whenever I cold start the car I don't have this problem and the car run pretty good overall and idle is also very smooth at opperating temps.
What's weird with all of that is that my car started to run rich all of a suden on high load
pulls, in boost and would also run a bit lean on light load cruising.
If that wasn't enough, I also had the classic vvt rattle at start up which is now fixed(new vvt cam gear)
Looked at the logs and when the problem occurs, VVT duty is at 0 and target angle for vvt is way out of the range??
Now here's what I've done:
-tested oil pressure(maybe the vvt system would act up and **** the valve timing) but its alll good
-tested vvt solenoid (clicks, 7,5ohm within specs, not clogged)
-changed vvt cam gear(solved rattle but not rough idle and richeness in boost)
-check crank sensor spacing
-Checked plugs
-coil are old but I don't get any missfire or spark blow off so I guess they are good?
Possible problems I could think:
-cam angle sensor
-crank position sensor
-vvt solenoid could be bad when hot?
-fuel pressure regulator is bad
-bad ecu
-tune problem
My set up is:
Forged 1.8 vvt with less than 3000 miles
-kraken top mount full kit with 3 inch exhaust
-gt2560r
-FlowForce 640s injector
-dw200 fuel pump (still stock returnless system with stock fpr)
-ms3 plug n play
thanks for the support!
heres a log, rough idle at the begining:

Couple things I see: the log says it's not idling during that period, and dwell is at 7.8, what is your cranking RPM set to? Would be helpful to see the tune. MAP sensor also says vacuum is about 2/3rds of what it should be at a stable idle. I'd be curious to know if all 4 cylinders are firing at that point.
Once idling well at the end of the log, it's adding close to 5% fuel and still .3 leaner than target. Set your idle to be at target +/- 1% when at these temperatures, and then use corrections or EGO to lean it out when not hot.
Your battery is not charging during this rough idle, which could be triggering weird dwell/dead time corrections. Again, it would be helpful to see the tune.
About halfway through the log, I see the MAP signal change like you're giving it throttle blips, but the TPS doesn't change. Is this a known issue? You blip the throttle a bunch about 3 times throughout the log, this is the only time TPS doesn't follow.
During the entire log, your average AFR target is 14.4, but ignoring the times when your wideband reads 9.2, your average AFR is ~16. Has this car been tuned before?
Does the rich during high load feel like it's actually running at 9afr? My main point with that question is: is it a fueling issue or wideband issue. Depending on the age of the injectors, I'd be sending them out for cleaning and testing, seeing as though it's cheaper than replacing the motors. I'd also be installing a fuel pressure sensor that the MS can log to make sure it's not a fuel pressure issue. I've seen dozens of issues with "new" fuel pump installs. Hoses slipping off, non-submersible fuel hose used, bad wiring, etc.
