Default Megasquirt 2 or 3 ?

This is really part 2 of my original post:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Re:N/A 99 miata 1.8

If I have K&N CAI, Ported Flat top manifold, RB header, 3 inch exhaust , minus Cat, plus magnaflow muffler…..

Will my ECU be able to handle the addition of the BP05 cam?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the plan is to get a 2.0 (sleeved not stroked) + 11:1 pistons and some light head work (plus all the above) the Megasquirt is coming sooner than later.

From the little I know, MS 2 can easily handle above mods, but does not have internal data logging. MS 3 seems like way overkill for N/A but has internal data logging.

Which do I choose? can MS 2 still do data logging if you strap a pc inside the car through the usb cable that I assume stays hooked up to it?

Remember, less than 10 posts, so take it easy

yeah, no point in spending so much money on all that other stuff, and then try to save a couple hundred on the ECU that controls everything....
