Yup. That would work. Easey-peasey.

Once I get my full-tilt track car built, I may build a second one of these in a low-buck approach as a daily. We have lots of really good salvage cars available around here with only minor damage and cheap prices. Recently, a nice 99 went for $1K needing only a hood, radiator support, rad, fascia and bumper bar. 75K miles on the drivetrain means the car is basically free once you sell off what you don't need.

Huh, wonder if something like this:

DC Sports Ceramic Headers Acura TSX (2004-2008) AHC6016

Would be any tighter, cutting below the flange and routing it to a 3" exhaust.

Are you guys staying on the PPF side of things for these swaps?

P.S: that was a random google search, no idea of quality.

Probably won't work. Looks like it would interfere with the tubular crossmember.

These swaps are doing a double-90 under the rear of the oil pan, ahead of the flywheel, to the driver's side. Hard to get 3" pipe to work down the PPF side. I may try and tackle it with oval tube at some point.

Here is a pic to give better idea on how k miata header is routed.

Where'd you find that pic, Phil?

What if you fabbed an elbow between the intake manifold and the throttle body for the rdx intake manifold? Is that manifold any better than the TSX? It would get you a better intake tube setup.

I asked for one from David some time ago, I'm still planning on getting the power steering working with this swap.

another way would be cutting and flipping the runners upside down.
But I don't think it's worth the effort when runners on RDX manifold are kind of crappy.

This.

The RDX thing was more of a stop-gap and curiosity. The runners/ports are tiny. The RBB manifold, OTOH, could be a legit option for someone wanting to cut initial costs, with room to upgrade. Below 6500 it makes more torque than any other OE manifold. Above it, other options excel.

I still have my fingers crossed on David's latest idea.

Andy, what are you planning on doing with upper radiator hose?
Re-welding to passenger side or gonna run hose to OEM location?

OE locations.

I bought some 1.25" 16ga aluminum tube, and pieced it together with some hose 90's I have from other projects. Once I get the final intake in there, I'll get it tig'd together with mandrel 90's into one piece with some rubber on each end to allow for motor rock.

The lower hose is an off-these-shelf piece from a 90 Chrysler Imperial with a little bit of trimming.

So this car popped up on my Facebook news feed the other day. I though i would share the madness.

Wrong blower driving the wrong wheels, with an A/W intercooler :giggle: but yeah, 600whp is impressive.

300whp Miata would tear it a new one on a road course. Just sayin'

There is that better? Supercharger

His Intake temps were 45 degrees with that after cooler. I don't see a kraftwerks making a torque curve/line like that. Merc racing is almost finished making manifolds to run air/air intercoolers with the positive displacement blowers.

I talked to David a little in the beginning about fitting a Rotrex on the K swap. It won't work because of the steering shaft is in the way. Maybe a Custom kit to spin the unit around and mount it higher would work.

Any why i was very impressed with those numbers out of a positive displacement blower on a k series. Even when its a off the shelf jackson kit wit a mere racing after cooler on a stock motor and 10psi they are getting over 300whp and 250 tq

It is actually amazing just how far PD blowers have come in the last ~10 years. Big efficiency gains and not much packaging penalty.

For one pull, sure. Not in a million years will that blower & I/C setup make anything more than 85% of it's first pull after one lap on track. BTDT.

Looks fantastic Andy. Going to ceramic the headers?
