He's definitely optimistic with those goals (at least the 10-12psi to hit 400 part), but not entirely crazy.
Those K's breathe like a BP only dreams to, and rev high enough that even a large frame turbo still provides 3k rpm worth of powerband. Pretty cool stuff |

Hes hoping that the slimmer tires will slip instead of the drivetrain getting the shock from the power... IMO just run boost by gear/speed.

Yeah boost by gear would be perfect, provided you can set up hondata to read vehicle speed some how, with a mechanical speedo drive and no abs on the car I'm not quite sure how to do that.
And would it really be any good to for the weak 4th gear in a 6 speed? i would think by 4th gear you would be putting down all the power. |

-The early cars have a speed sensor built into the dash regardless of ABS or not. I am running that at the moment but am not having good luck with it. -Before my T5 swap I ran a MSD speed sensor on the end of the speedometer cable on the transmission end. That worked well from ~10mph on. -like stinkymonky said, you can get creative and install a hall sensor that picks up something, say the 4 bolts that attach the driveshaft to the diff. That's what i'm planning on next. I was running a speed sensor to turn off my 2-stage/antilag above a certain MPH, but now using it to limit boost below certain MPH would be a good idea.

I'd rather break axles than the clutch. Axle swap take 30 minutes and costs $80 to buy a new one from advanced autoparts, a clutch rebuild for me costs $340 and it takes a couple hours to pull the engine and put it back in.

My plan with this set up was a rotrex charger, rotrex = less torque. That will not fit, so I will use turbo. I already have advanti's with 205 direzza dz102. I will not buy expensive race rubber to commute back and forth to work(70 min total) with so I can have 225. When someone makes a 225 street tire I will upgrade. All I'm
Getting at is if I go turbo I will have torque in the breaking range of a 6speed so I hope the 205 saves the tranny. Just like honda drag racers use stock axles so they break insead of a tranny. Yes I drift also why I'm not so worried about loss of traction. I don't want to be another lost soul in the "my transmission took out my anus cause I'm running 275 slicks with 400 ftlbs " thread |
BFG and Hankook both make 225 street tires.
