The exhaust switches sides behind the oil pan in front of the transmission.
In my opinion if people can't figure out fuel and coolant lines than they shouldn't be swapping engines as that's the easiest stuff |

How does the header connect to stock Miata exhaust if the exhaust side of a K series engine is on the passengers side, and the Miata exhaust is on the drivers side?

That's pretty wild. I'm still on the fence as far as pulling the plug on this swap.

Have you had any issues with oil temperature, with the exhaust being routed under the oil pan?
Once the car is sorted out, you'll get a call from me for sure... Great job Ben |

The J-pipe shown in the picture runs under the oil pan and over to the stock exhaust location.

Why not under the gearbox? Thats how I did it, even managed to fit all of the stock bracing over the crossover without modification or spacers.
Dann What motor you running, with what size exhaust? |

Call us any time, this setup has been sorted out for months. I wouldn't sell them if it wasn't. No oil temp issues, lots of cars run headers under oil pans, including all B, D, and H series powered Hondas.

Do you guys have any idea if a rotrex will fit around the subframe/ mount area. (kraftwerks race kit) ? I can't decide what route i want to go with my setup (rotrex vs turbo). I have a lead on a engine, but I'm waiting for a reply to go look at it.

I just scored a k24a4 (160hp/161tq, 9.7:1 compression). I could change pistons, head swap, intake, and make maybe 240whp in my Miata N/A with that motor...or I could just continue to run my BP w/ 2560 turbo.
So right now, my car gets about 29 mpg driven to work, and it should run low 13's in the 1/4 with that turbo...I'm also guessing it should put down something like 250whp/220wtq? How would the k series Honda swap compare to what I have now? I'm all about a cleaner engine bay, and N/A power...but the lack of torque has me stumped as to how it would feel to drive it. |
Your only gonna be around 180 ftlbs with the NA, but you will be loosing weight, and running cooler under the hood. If you have e85 in your area you can boost your power a bit with higher compression (13.0:1 +). I have no experience with how the power feels, but my friend is making 366whp with a k24 on methanol and he says it feels like a turbo car lol

We used a 2.5" but the section that goes under the car and crosses over is a flattened 3" with the same cross sectional area of 2.5" which could easily be achieved with a 3.5" pipe flattened for a 3" system.

Or you can run it under the oil pan, which is how OEMs do it.
I like our solution. Works great, and the real clearance issue is where to put the collector. Since you have to already be at either 2.5" or 3" before you actually come off the side of the motor, its nice to duck it under the pan right away so customers can use the OEM exhaust routing. |

I think I emailed you back on this already... short answer is we don't know, but I do know that the K series A/C compressor does not quite fit. We need a test unit from Kraftwerks :)
Im not sure of what turbo will suit what i want to do though 10-12 psi on 93 pump 375-400whp area. This car is a street car so im praying that 205 tires will save my transmission and burn up instead of breaking shit. Anyone have recommendations for turbos ? EFR 7163 + .85 a/r v band housing (twin scroll internal gate ? ) i worry about the gate being to small on these turbos to run low boost GTX 3071R + .86 a/r Tial housing most people on k series forums are running bigger stuff like gtx3582 , 6262, big efr's. I feel that these are to big as i want really good spool up and low end and reach the power i want. |

Soviet's EFR hits 29psi somewhere around 4000rpm and made 458whp, not trolling in the least.
