Sat down and did the math for myself parting out my bp na setup It should cost me additional 2k-3500 for everything. Seems reasonable and am planning to go this route this winter after this track season.
Hows the cooling system work is there any adapters needed like the ktuned outlets? As well can you talk about your integra David? k24a2 is it just cams only? and makes 250whp? how much tq? just wondering about simple cost effective power upgrades down the road. |

As far as the integra, it makes 243whp/190wtq on 93, and 247/192 on E85. Stock '06 k24a2 Type S intake cam gear RCrew cams (really meant for a k20, but its what I had) Supertech springs Type S oil pump (mandatory to fit this motor in a Miata) 3" intake 3" exhaust 70mm TB RBC intake manifold (unported, from 06-11 Civic Si) RCrew header (basic off the shelf swap header) Revving to 8200 with two seasons on it so far. We are going for a similar setup for the Miata. |
Jesus I'm having a hard time deciding one which direction to go. The more developed this swap gets the more i want it. There are so many advantages to the K24. Especially in a daily driven car.
My plans at the moment include a nice EFR setup on my built engine. But i could do this swap if i sold my motor. Not to mention the price of management is much better for the Honda stuff. Im waiting on the oil system pricing. Is the group by going to be for a complete swap or can i subtract a few parts? I'm thinking that a skunk2 ultra manifold could be used. The detachable plenum looks like i can be reversed to make it face the correct way. And i might be interested in making a custom header. |

Is there room to go 3" on the exhaust were it passes over the trans? Will the cross member accept a NA rack? Your machining the oil pump case for clearance? Can we get some in car video?

For OBDI chassis people, they seem to be figuring out MS on the K24s. Pretty great option.
LKQ has some pretty decent pricing on K24a2s out of post 06 TSXs :) K20a2s seem to command a price premium in a way, though thats a tempting option for this, you get the oil pump the rocks, and maybe the required harness gear in the deal too. I wonder how many RSX and TSX owners are looking for cheap Miata chassis' right now LOL. |

For NA, you'll have to run a fuel pressure regulator with a return line, just like all the Honda swap guys. Adds a little expense, but its nice to have. Throttle cable is easy. I just used the Miata cable, and bent the throttle cable bracket a bit on the S2000 manifold, and it fits right in. Nothing pretty but it works great. I'm sure others will work up a nicer solution, including me, but its not at the top of my list.

We could make the crossmember accept either rack, but I've decided to stick with NB, since we are using the improved NB suspension points anyway, and the NB rack is mounted a bit higher to eliminate more bumpsteer. If you need a rack when you do the swap, I'll get you one for $100. Oil pump case isn't machined, half of it is a custom CNC piece that allows the pickup to go over the steering rack. check the pictures on Home In car video is coming soon. Right now the car is completely ripped apart again as we are working on final prototypes. even still, its only making 200whp so its not particularly wild. I'll post videos once its all done and re-tuned. |
A rhd throttle cable should work perfect. Anyone got a part number for that ?

I have to say, I think that $5k or thereabouts is WAY high for this swap. You'll find a lot of trash talk about people buying a swap kit at $5k, but I think that you're going to play hell actually moving units at that price. While there is some market for people in your position who need a track day reliable ~230whp and the ability to drive to any junkyard in the country and buy a motor for $1500, there are 100 times as many guys who want a K powered street car. I, for one simply wouldn't be able to stomach a $7500 motor swap in a street car.
Hell, before reading this thread I would have laughed in your face if you tried to sell me a stock Miata with a K24 in it with an asking price of what it would cost to buy your kit and a stock K24, a harness, a K-Pro, and a manifold. |

The point is probably to make as much money as possible. I just don't think the market will support many real sales at $5k is what I'm saying.

i guess with me being a machinist. i think that some parts are way over priced. The s2k adapter flange is a $75-$100 part. The flywheel is the price of a 949 twin disk setup, I guess they are limited to what they pay for the custom parts.
I think the whole kit should be around 3500-4000 |

you could water jet that adapter plate, all thats left is counterboring. but i was referring to the intake adapter before. But honestly i think i will be paying for the kit. Maybe not everything as i don't plan to run the s2k intake and might opt of a custom header.
