Default how to Make 94-95 tach work with MSPNP2

I was just wondering how some of you have been able to get the Factory Tach to work when using Igniton coils with no "tach output"

I have heard about putting a 1k Resistor between IG- and B+

I just recently ordered the resistors and plan to give that a try when i get them on friday.

However are there any settings i need to change on the megasqirt?

Do i need to run a new wire from my Tach out pin on ecu to the Black and white wire thats not being used anymore?

Looking at the wiring diagram the ecu is already connected to the tach...

any one have ideas?

That's what I did on my '94. Bought the resistor from RadioShak and took 4 seconds to install and the tach started working.

Yup. Same thing here on my '94.
No other changes required.

The best part of a 94+ is that if you ever remove the stock coils to ones that don't send out the tach signal, you still have the option to turn "tach output" and have a working tach, driven by the ecu, without any wiring changes.

Under tach out out there are many places for it to send the tach output. Do you know which one or should I just try all of them untill it works?

I tried the resistor with no luck :/

Thanks for your help guys.
Just installed some ign-1a coils

I attached my tunerstudio file. Please excuse the name haha.

I had some issues tracking this down in my car. However I have a 95.5 and of course they changed the location of the ECU Tach out wire... I have a DIYPNP however that was built by someone else. I opened the case and everything was wired up correctly. But when I compared the pins in the wiring diagram to what was on my plugs for the ECU the black and white wire was in a different location. I ended up having to solder Tach out to pin 1F I believe it ended up being. With 4I being what was in the pin out table on DIYautotunes website. There was no wire at this location on the factory harness. Note this may not be relevant to you at all, if not just ignore.

odd. Im pretty sure even 95.5 should be 4I. doesnt make sense that they would have moved the wire location.

currently the black and white wire that used to connect to factory coils is taped of so it does not short.
wait, you cut off the wire that goes back your tachometer and wondering why you cant get a tach signal?

No argument that it was odd. But trust me 4I location is empty in my factory harness which is why it was a bit of a pain tracking down my Tachometer not working issue. However now that I have Tach out jumpered to 1F (I believe) my tach works... Alright back on topic.
