Default How to assemble injectors?

Ok, I'm kinda at a loss for this one...

I purchased a set of 650cc FIC injectors (IS601-0650H) off of a member here a few months back. I didn't know too much about injectors at the time, so when I received them and saw no damage, I thought I was in the clear. Now that I have actually pulled them out to install, I realized that the o-rings/seals were all in the wrong places, and get this. The tophats were even mounted on the bottom of the injectors...

No idea how they were usable, but I now have all the seals removed and can't seem to figure out how to correctly reassemble with everything sealing correctly. Just to be clear, there were 6 per injector. The 4 on the towel and the two under the tophat. Also, as shown in the last photo, the black o-rings are too small to seal on the top hat, but the brown one is too big to seal on the injector.

Do I need to run to the hardware store to find correct o-ring sizes, or does anyone have a clue how these are correctly assembled? Curious as well if anyone knows where the #4 seals go.

Any pointers are appreciated while I wait for FIC to get back to me.

I have used both OEM and ID injectors. Appears to me that you might have the parts and pieces to use these injectors with different fuel rails and some extras that aren’t needed. How about you mock it up with the actual fuel rail and head to see what fits and is needed? Also, one set I bought off a “member” DID NOT work and I wasted money on an alleged injector set that supposedly worked with my Miata.

Just heard back from FIC and even they were confused at first. The part number matches to a set sold with top hats and different seals, but apparently they also have sets with bottom mount adaptors that don't appear to be listed anywhere. Luckily they found them on a parts shelf and took some photos for me. Looks like they actually were assembled correctly originally, but were a different configuration than the injector currently under that part number. Kinda weird, but I’m in the clear now.

Heres some pics in case anyone else runs into these injectors.

I'm curious why the adapter would go on the outlet and not the inlet. Isn't that going to hurt the spray pattern?

I’m actually curious about this as well. This was part of my original reasoning for the injectors being incorrectly assembled, but the cars running great now on them.
