Default Flow rate of oil pump -how many gallons per minute?

Does anyone know how many gallons per minute a Boundary Stage 2, and standard VVT oil pump can flow at 7000rpm? I have asked Boundary, but no response so far.
If anyone could direct me to the figures, it would be mucho appreciated
Many thanks.

Good luck with that.

I don't think anyone has bothered to compute it because it is what we are stuck using. Why don't you measure and compute it and report back your findings?

If you know the exact geometry, the calculation is not that complicated. Oil is non-compressible; as such the flow rate can be obtained by calculating the change ratio of area between the inner and outer "gears" multiplied by the input=crank RPM where you want to calculate the flow at. This will give a good approximation; however it excludes any leak back in between the gears.

Here's a good read:

The problem is finding the exact geometry when specialist instruments are required. It would be easier to bodgy up some sort of test bench, where the pump is mounted on a frame, the pickup[ is submerged in a container of X gallons of oil, and the pulley is rotated at Y rpm. Then we could just measure how much the output mouth discharged per minute at Y rpm...

I tested this a couple years ago, vvt motor stock pump. Left the hose of my oil cooler off and started the engine. Pumped out 4 qts of new oil into my garage in about 5 seconds at a cold-start idle RPM.

I've also done this, the sump will empty itself in about 30 seconds out of the oil gallery in the head. I once left a plug out and pump half out in 10 or so seconds, and thats through the tiny cylinder head restrictor (approx 2mm).

Perhaps we just put it in a bucket, turn it by hand 10 times and then multiply that amount by 700 to get an equivalent of 7000rpm.

Since the impeller doesn’t make a perfect seal in the housing, they rely on some speed to work effectively. Turning it by hand would have significantly more leak back than when it’s turning with some speed, even idle rpm.

Default Flow Rate!

Theoretical flow rate of S2 pump calculated from raw geometry is attached. And before anyone else has to say it... holy decimal places batman...
