Bought a used kit from a member on here but didn't get the rubber weather seal grommet piece for the valve cover. Does anyone have information on what to use here?

When I had mine it was just an oring that went around the pencil coil. Went to an auto parts store to get a replacement matched up because they crack and disintegrate pretty easily.

Should be able to just find an oring that fits.

In the install pictures ive found, they have what looks like more of a grommet like the one for the PCV versus an oring;

I don't remember those being easily removable. They just came out of the valve cover with the coils.

Dug up this pic of my old Miata.

They must have changed coils at some point, because that's how mine mounted (I had bought them new). These were Denso coils originally from a motorbike IIRC - not sure what Brian is using now.

Mine came with orings that broke after removing them one time. Hot garbage.

Same here, came with regular o-rings that fell apart the first time I pulled them out. Picked up a variety pack and just put new ones on every time I take them out.

I just threw the whole kit back in a box. Was not impressed. GM LS coils are pretty much the way to go.

I think it's pretty slick. I just hate how secretive fab9 is with their stuff. Like how they wouldn't give the part number of the coil pack and their ignitor has no markings on it. I understand their trying to make money and have a product but if you're using purchased components why can't you tell the customer what those are?

I'm a design engineer, I design machines that process material with lasers, the more purchased components that I can incorporate into machine the better because that means less time is spent on custom fabricated components.

I had the same problem with the part number thing. One of the coils I got from them was defective right out of the box, I tried to contact them about getting a replacement, of course nothing happened and I'm hung out to dry.

The coils are from a Suzuki GSX1000r. I had to go to a bike scrap yard to find one. Ran the kit for one track day before **** started melting then binned it.

I'd tend to agree. Only reason I still have them is I just needed a PNP solution to replace my dying OE coils. If I have any more issues (likely), then I'll go the same route.

Back when I used their kit, the igniter was a Chinese knockoff of Audi 4D0 905 351. Had to replace one that failed after about a year.

Fab9s customer service/communication sucks though. I will never do business with them again.

Yeah I'm pretty annoyed, called again today, no answer. Messaged their Facebook page, no response. Are they on this form? Would be interesting to get their feedback to this post.

Funny enough, I went to drive my car last night and I am again running on 3.5 cylinders. I'm thinking the ICM has died again. Quality equipment, 10/10, would not recommend.

So what's the part number of the law coils? Looks like there are a few variations

The ones I had were Denso 129700-5100.
