I just got my 1.6 engine back from the machine shop. I had the following done for my future turbo build:
head hot tanked
new valve springs/seals installed
deck blocked
bore & honed block
crank polished and balanced
line honed mains
installed forged rods, new bearings, and wiseco pistons and arp main studs
I wanted to confirm these specs with those of you who are more experience in this area.
Also has anyone else used this valve springs before?
see attached pics
I appreciate any knowledge on the subject as this is a expensive learning experience for me.
thanks everyone
Oil clearance looks good.
personally havent seen those springs used but that does t really mean anything. they could be great stil.
did you overbore or do standard bore? I dont see any piston to wall clearance numbers.

machinist said he had to overbore cause the pistons were bigger. I gotta find the spec sheet. The pistons specs are
Did they assemble the engine? Thrust and piston wall clearance? Why balance the crank? It should be balanced to zero and the factory tolerance is usually more then adequate. The aftermarket rods and pistons are also usually very good. The ring end gap is a bit on the larger side.

i had them assemble the block: wiseco pistons, forged rods, ACL bearings, ARP bolts. I no nothing about clearances and gap etc hence this post 😁.
