Crazy bog and buck from 1000-2000rpms at take off and light cruise, fuel pressure reg
Hey guys,
96 boosted miata
16g turbo
aem fic protuned
forged rods pistons
1000cc rc injectors
brand hammer new walboro 255lph
Flying miata clutch
Ok guys so the car has been protuned, ran super hard for a good while. Then one day it began to buck when I go to take off, I have to bring the rpms up to 2000rpms and roll on the clutch for it not to buck. My aem wideband reads off the scale lean when this happens then it gets where it needs to be in about 1/2 second. Also the car has a surge in random spots at part throttle cruise, when I get into boost it pulls really hard and stays 10.5-11 afr. I have noticed a pretty big drop in gas mileage also. I have boost leak tested and she is solid, replaced 02 sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, and adjusted the tps to stock specifications.
My theory is that my walboro has begun to outflow my fpr (which is stock on 1996 with 143k on the clock). I feel like the fpr is the only part of this drivetrain that is not stock.
