Clutch Or Transmission Noise. SEARCHED!
Hey guys, I am pretty sure I'm posting this in the right place but if im not, feel free to move/delete it. Ok so my 1999 NB makes a weird clutch noise when the clutch is engaged (pedal out) I can only hear it at idle, but I'm sure it happens in every gear. Just not something you can hear over engine noise. I only hear it after the car has been driven for a period of time, or warmed up. For example the first time I noticed it was after a 25min commute by highway. I don't want to waste your time by trying to write a book describing the noise so I just shot a quick video of it about 15 minutes. Let me know what you guys think! My guess is pilot bearing but that is based on a hunch and no real knowledge haha.

when you engage the clutch and the rattling stops even with reving the motor probably indicates its the transmission...a broken disk will ratttle also but clutch engagement will not be smooth.. if its rear end..it will rattle regardless if clutch is depressed or not..when moving. I just had a simiiar rattle but much worse.. I was hoping it was the clutch ..but knew better. Broken 6 speed...now replace with low miiage 6 speed MSM trannny.
